About the Foundation
The Boerne Public Library Library Foundation,a 501 (c) 3 organization, supports the library and the Boerne community. In 1993,the rise of technology, internet access and a growing population, a group of citizens created the foundation to provide private funds for the library. Working with the City, this group began fundraising for library equipment needs, programs and services that were beyond the city’s budget. Over the past 20 years, the foundation has raised funds and awareness for our library – our community hub. Today, the Boerne Public Library Foundation provides funding for capital needs, special events, literacy programs, children’s and teen activities, oral history, and cultural and educational projects. Funds for these projects and programs are generated by individual donations, gifts, bequests, grants and other forms of public and private assistance. Since 2007, the foundation has raised over $2.8 million, with $1.7 million going towards the construction of the Patrick Heath Public Library and $550,000 going towards the outdoor amphitheater. In addition to financial support, the foundation is committed to increase awareness of the diverse services, programs and collections offered free of charge at The Patrick Heath Public Library. The Foundation’s goal is to inspire a love of learning and cultural enrichment for the entire community.
