“I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.” Albert Einstein
Developing a love of learning can be challenging in our world of instant information and the feeling of being inundated with the ideas of others. A love of learning involves a curious mind and a desire to be engaged with the world around us. Our support of the curious mind has lead us to support nationally recognized art exhibits, award winning music, equipment for hands-on learning, new books for children, visiting speakers and much more. We have also enjoyed our past partnerships with organizations such as NASA and the Yellowstone Park Foundation which brought their worlds to our library.
We also know that encouraging learning can be as simple as improving reading skills. If you can’t read or reading is a challenge, you will miss out on so much of our world. For our growing population living in poverty, access to books is decreased significantly. We are partnering with organizations serving our poor population to get books in their homes and provide reading support to children. One book can make a difference in the life of one child. That one child can impact the trajectory of their family and that one family can change a community. It all starts with a love of reading.
