Upstairs Renovation at the PHPL

As crazy as it sounds, the library is busting at the seams.  The after-school hours find the teen HUB especially packed and the Young Adult Librarian doesn’t have enough space to provide effective programs for this growing patron population.  In order to meet this need, the library has requested $75,000 from the Boerne Library Foundation.  We are excited to be able to partner with the City of Boerne to make this project a reality.

How can you help?  We need your donations, advocacy and patience.

Donations – You can make a donation HERE to help us cover the cost of the project.  We will have the opportunity for donors to make donations for specific items that allow for naming opportunities.  Those particular elements of the project will be identified in the coming months. We know there will be naming opportunities for spaces, furniture and equipment.

Advocacy – With your help, we can educate the public and patron population on the importance of this project and why the renovation is needed now.  Additional quiet space, program space and effective utilization of space for teens and young adults will be created with the renovation.

Patience – During the construction process, the upstairs will be temporarily limited in usable space.  The construction will also create noise, dust and debris that will be handled as expeditiously as possible.  The project is estimated to last 3 months beginning in the 2nd quarter of 2019.
